Georgian Embassy to Russia gives support to detained journalists

The Georgian Embassy gives support to Georgian journalists detained in Beslan. In the words of Georgian Foreign Minister Salome Zurabishvili, the Georgian Embassy to Russia will guarantee that the journalists will come to an interrogation at the first instance of investigators in case the Russian authorities set the detained Rustavi 2 TV crew free.

The court has set a preventive punishment for journalists Nana Lezhava and Levan Tetvadze in the form of pre-trial detention. The journalists are charged with crossing the border illegally and violating the visa regime.
