Child killed by shell explosion in Dagestani village

An explosion of an artillery shell occurred within a private household in the village of Djepel, Magaramkent District of Dagestan. Four people were injured, one – a five-year-old child – died.

According to the regional department of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), the victims of the accident were taken to the central district hospital of Magaramkent.

The message about the accident was received by rescuers at 6:25 p.m. Moscow time, the Chief Department of the MfE for Dagestan wrote in its website.

The blast killed a child born in 2011; among the four victims, there are two more children, born in 2002 and 2004, the "Interfax" reports, citing an MfE source.
