Armenian side 'not inclined to resume hostilities'

"I think it's not realistic to talk about the resumption of hostilities in Karabakh in the foreseeable future. But nothing can be excluded," Armenian Defense Minister Serzh Sargsian said to journalists after command and staff exercises of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army.

Mr Sargsian pointed out that the leadership of Armenia and Nagorny Karabakh had stated many times the Armenian side did not intend to resume hostilities.

He also said the exercises of the Nagorno-Karabakh army were aimed at preserving peace. The Armenian Defense Minister believes that today, the balance of peace in the region is preserved not thanks to the amount of armament but thanks to the quality of the troops training.
