OSCE demands investigation of attacks against journalists

OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Miklos Haraszti addressed a letter to Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov last Thursday in connection with recent attacks against Aydin Guliyev, editor-in-chief of the Baki Khabar newspaper, and Eynulla Fatullayev, a reporter for the Monitor weekly, reported the OSCE Office in Baku.

These acts of violence against journalists are roundly denounced in the latter. The OSCE representative expressed hope that the incidents would be investigated and the guilty would be punished. Mr Haraszti asked Elmar Mamedyarov to inform him of the results of the investigation.
