Kabardino-Balkaria apprehends repetition of Ingush scenario
All police units and the military unit quartered in Kabardino-Balkaria went on higher state of alert on the night of July 27-28 as operational information about an imminent rebel attack had been received, an informed source in the Kabardino-Balkarian Interior Ministry told the Caucasian Knot correspondent.
According to the source, herders noticed unknown gunmen in a forest near Nalchik a few days ago. Later policemen searched the forest but did not find anybody. However the Interior Ministry's press service and the Emergencies Ministry have neither confirmed nor denied this information. But the fact that APCs started to appear in Nalchik at nights, which had happened never before, argues for reliability.
