Death toll from rebel attack in Ingushetia rises to 98

The death toll from the rebel attack in Ingushetia that took place on June 21-22 has risen to 98, while 104 people were reported to be wounded, an Ingush government official announced on Thursday, June 24.

"Among the dead, there are 23 civilians, 29 police officers, 10 Federal Security Service officials, 5 prosecutors, 19 servicemen, 2 Chechen Interior Ministry officials and 7 border guards," he said. Three dead bodies have not been identified, he added.

"Among the 104 wounded, there are 25 civilians," the official said.
