Death toll from guerilla attacks in Ingushetia reaches 60

The death toll from the recent guerilla attacks in Ingushetia has risen to 60, an Ingush government source reported.

The casualties include 49 law enforcement officers, among them 11 policemen from Kursk Region, 2 from Samara Region, 2 from Chechnya, and 8 officers from the Federal Security Service's (FSB) branch for Ingushetia.

25 Ingush policemen and 8 local FSB officers were injured.

These figures are tentative, the source said.

Referring to the Ingush Interior Ministry's estimates, earlier reports put the death toll at 56.
