No less than 10 Russian servicemen died in Chechnya for one day

No less than 10 Russian servicemen and police officers were killed in armed clashes with Chechen separatists in Chechnya for the last 24 hours, The Associated Press reported on May 4 referring to the Moscow-backed government of the republic. Meanwhile, the Chechen separatist website Kavkaz Center reported on violent clashes continuing between separatists and federal soldiers in the south of Chechnya. According to the website, 70 federal soldiers were killed and from 50 to 80 servicemen and policemen were wounded in the clashes for the last three days. The losses of the Chechen rebels are estimated at 11 people.
