Opposition rally dispersed in Batumi

The Adjarian special operations unit and fast response unit have dispersed the participants in an opposition rally who gathered at the building of the Batumi city court.

Adjarian law enforcers used rubber batons to disperse the people. Several opposition activists were beaten.

The Adjarian opposition demand that political prisoners be released from Adjarian prisons and permission be given to bring in the autonomy the chemical fertilizers sent to the people in Adjaria's highlands by the Georgian president as humanitarian aid.

Approximately 200 rally participants scanned "Misha, Misha" and called upon Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze to resign.
