Georgian Parliament to adopt statement on situation in Tskhinvali region

At a plenary session on June 4, the Georgian Parliament is expected to adopt a special statement in connection with the recent developments in the zone of the Georgian-Osetian conflict (in the Tskhinvali region), reported a source in the Georgian Parliament.

A deputy group has begun to work out the text of the statement on Thursday, June 3. The decision about it was made by Parliament Speaker Nino Burdjanadze after several deputies had voiced the opinion that Georgia's highest legislative body should react to the recent developments in the Tskhinvali region.
