Journalist to be proposed for post of Georgian ombudsman

The chairperson of the Georgian parliamentary human rights commission, Elena Tevdoradze, is going to propose journalist Sozar Subeliani for the post of ombudsman. She said she would forward her proposal for discussion by the faction National Movement - Democrats. Ms Tevdoradze thinks the opposition will possibly have its own candidate for this post. Sozar Subeliani is an activist of the Freedom Institute. He has engaged in human rights activity for a long time.
