Two Armenian oppositionists set free

Preventive punishment against Aramazd Zakarian, a member of the political council of the opposition party Republic, and Zhora Sapeian, head of the Talin regional branch, has been completely annulled, a source at the Armenian general prosecutor's office reported. Both the opposition activists left a temporary detention isolator.

Criminal proceedings against both the men have been stopped, the source said. Aramazd Zakarian and Zhora Sapeian were accused of making appeals to overthrow the country's constitutional regime and insulting state officials.
