Georgian president promises to get Abkhazia back

"We will get Abkhazia back in my presidential term," Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili said at a briefing in Tbilisi on May 25. Georgia is ready for asymmetric federative relations with Abkhazia, the president noted. However such a model must not infringe upon Georgia's sovereignty and it does not apply to Adjaria, he added.
The resolution of the Georgian-Abkhazian problem is Georgia and Abkhazia's affair in fact, but Russia has a large part in the resolution of the conflict, Mr Saakashvili said.
