South Osetian president resolved to ensure republic's accession to Russia

Eduard Kokoity, President of South Osetia (a self-proclaimed republic in Georgian territory), has said he will do everything to secure the republic's accession to Russia.

As meeting with Tskhinvali residents on Saturday, May 22, Mr. Kokoity said international funds and governments would not make South Osetia give up its desire to reunite with Russia irrespective of an amount of money they offered for that.

Mr. Kokoity said earlier that the Georgian government had offered South Osetia $3 million on economic recovery.

"People in South Osetia do not sell their principles even for billions of dollars," he said.
