Moscow professor becomes Chechen minister

Under the decree signed by Acting President of Chechnya Sergey Abramov on May 21, Movsar Ibragimov, a professor at the Moscow State Pedagogical University, was appointed Chechen Minister for Nationalities, Information, and External Relations.

Doctor of Historical Science Movsar Igragimov is little known in Chechnya. He has lived in Moscow for all last years. According to information from confidential sources, some ministers in the Chechen government are dissatisfied with this appointment. First of all it can be explained by the fact that Professor Movsar Ibragimov belongs to the so called "Moscow Chechens", whom local officials openly dislike since they believe these people bided in quiet and safe Moscow during the last two wars and now aim at positions provided with everything.
