No new information about abducted Ingush prosecutor

The criminal case open in connection with the abduction of Rashid Ozdoyev, the Ingush prosecutor general's senior assistant, will be investigated for two more months, reported a source at the Ingush prosecutor's office on May 19. "Investigative bodies still have no new information that can clarify this strange disappearance," investigator Nurdi Baklayev said to the Caucasian Knot correspondent via phone.

Rashid Ozdoyev was detained by representatives of unidentified security agencies on March 11, 2004. Gunmen in masks, who were in a Zhiguli car, reportedly stop Mr Ozdoyev on the Nazran-Malgobek road. They showed their certificates of employment to him, made him get into their car, and drove him away in an unknown direction. The further destiny of the abducted man remains unknown. Republican law-enforcement agencies have not been able to establish his whereabouts so far.
