Detained residents of Chechnya released

On May 9, Chechen police released five hostages whom they had held in a basement in Grozny. The hostages were four men and a woman. Their names are being ascertained. One of the released men, a resident of the village of Noviye Aldy in Grozny who asked not to disclose his name, told that the Russian military had abducted him from his house without any explanations three months ago and held him in the basement for all this time. On May 9, they were forced into a car and were made get out on the outskirts of the town. The victims do not know what the reason for their detention was.
