MHG, Memorial present book about Chechnya
A press conference to present the book "Chechnya 2003: Political Process in Zazerkalye" will be held at the Independent Press Center in Moscow on May 20. The book is prepared by the Moscow Helsinki Group (MHG) jointly with the Human Rights Center Memorial. It includes results of the monitoring of presidential and parliamentary elections in the Chechen Republic, a series of articles by different authors, a chronicle of events related to the elections, and a chronicle of violence and human rights violations against the background of which the so called political process and peaceful settlement are carried out. Among the participants will be Lyudmila Alekseyeva, MGH Chairwoman; Tatyana Lokshina, Director of the MHG Expert and Analytical Center; Aleksandr Cherkasov of the Human Rights Center Memorial; and Grigory Shvedov, Director of the Caucasian Knot Internet Information Agency.
