Adjarian Women's Association stages rally in Batumi

The Adjarian Women's Association and the Association of Adjarian Teachers staged a rally in Batumi on April 27. Action participants demanded that "the state of emergency and curfew on the territory of the autonomy be immediately canceled."

They announced that local authorities were forcing Adjarian teachers to participate in the actions in support of the head of the Adjarian Autonomous Republic, Aslan Abashidze, taking place at the autonomy's administrative border on the Choloki River, and that the people taking part in these actions "were protecting their chairs." "We - mothers - have not been able to sleep recently. There are so many arms in Adjaria. It must be stopped immediately," said one of the women during the rally.
