Sochi authorities demand to demolish high-rise building under construction near land plot of pensioner Nina Dubovaya

The Sochi administration goes to the court to recognize a high-rise building under construction near the land plot of pensioner Nina Dubovaya an unauthorized construction and demolish it. The pensioner intends to join the proceedings as a third party, since she believes the construction of the high-rise buildings has affected her rights.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Sochi, a land plot located in No. 32 in Poltavskaya Street was assigned several cadastral numbers and, as a result, its owner Nina Dubovaya was deprived of her land plot. The woman believes she is deprived of her land plot as a result of wrongful acts and repeated resale of her land plot.

Nina Dubovaya has reported that the Regional Court is to consider her complaint on July 8. According to the woman, the developer, who has bought her land plot, is constructing a residential complex. Nina Dubovaya has noted that the developer is already selling the apartments in the building under construction.

In Sochi, many high-rise buildings are being constructed without appropriate documents on land plots belonging to other people or on municipal territories. Then, developers go to courts to legitimize their buildings and change types of permitted use for land plots. This was stated by lawyer Roman Shikarev.

According to the lawyer, the fact that courts pronounce decisions in favour of such developers "has led to chaos in urban development, mass cutting down of green belts, and destruction of the city as a resort." So, Roman Shikarev believes that the courts should develop a common practice in relation to unauthorized high-rise buildings.
