Nino Burdjanadze elected head of Georgian parliament

The Georgian parliament confirmed Nino Burdjanadze's appointment as speaker by a secret vote on April 22. 159 out of 160 deputies present at the session voted for her candidacy, and 1 deputy voted against it.

Nino Burdjanadze is a deputy for the city of Kutaisi.
