Armenians left Kesab to escape from Syrian government troops, oppositionists assert

The blame for the conflict in Syria is on the country's government; and the Syrian Free Army fights against both Bashar Assad's troops and radicals, while the population Kesab left their homes, fearing bombings of Syrian aviation. This was stated by the participants of the roundtable "Syria's Road Map in Transition Period" held on April 17 in Moscow.

Radwan Ziadé, the President of the Syrian Commission on Justice in Transition Period, said that Syrian oppositionists were surprised and shocked with the Russia's demand to convene the UN Security Council on the situation in Kesab.

"Kesab was visited by UN officials, who found no traces of any massacre," said Ziadé, describing the bombing of the city by governmental air forces.

The participants also discussed the activities of radical groups in Syria.

For the first six months after the start of the unrest, only by government forces of Syria were shooting, and only then the Syrian Free Army (SFA) was formed from the militaries who did not want to shoot at their population, said Monzer Makhous, the spokesman of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Oppositional Forces in Paris.

According to his version, Syrian radicals have killed 3,500 SFA soldiers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of Armenia, which receives refugees from Syria, express their concern over the situation in Kesab. Armenian authorities state the country's readiness to accept Kesab residents who decide to resettle to Armenia.
