Mother's four-year search for abducted son produced no results

Tamara Tabulayeva, a native of Chechnya living in the Satsita refugee camp in Ingushetia now, turned to the Ingush office of the Society for Russian-Chechen Friendship on March 23, asking to help to find her son, Ramzan Alaudinov, who lived in the Oktyabrsky district of Grozny. Tamara Tabulayeva said she had been vainly searching for her son for four years already. He was detained in Grozny by OMON (special operations police platoon) officers from Khanty-Mansiysk on April 17, 2000. Alaudinov was held in a temporary district police department until May 2000. But when the Siberian policemen's assignment was over and they returned to Khanty-Mansiysk, Tabulayeva lost connection with Ramzan.
