In Moscow, citizen of Armenia suspected of major road accident refuses to testify

Grachya Arutyunyan, a native of Armenia, suspected of committing a traffic accident near Podolsk, has refused to testify, the press service of the Moscow MIA reports.

Let us remind you that the 46-year-old citizen of Armenia Grachya Arutyunyan is accused of a road accident near Podolsk, not far from Moscow. According to investigators, on July 13, Arutyunyan, while driving a KamAZ truck, collided with a bus. The accident had 63 victims; 18 of them died. The accused person refused to plead guilty.

"Today, it was planned to question Arutyunyan as a defendant; however, he refused to give evidence to the investigator," the RIA "Novosti" quotes a source from the MIA as saying.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 16 a protest action was held in front of the Russian Embassy in Armenia, where the participants said that after the accident Grachya Arutyunyan suffered abuse and humiliation. The protesters spoke against insulting the dignity of the detainee during the trial, where Arutyunyan was taken in a women's dressing gown.
