Georgian president not allowed into Adjaria

The Georgian president's motorcade was denied entrance to Adjaria in the morning of March 14.

The motorcade carrying the president, the interior minister and other officials was stopped at a checkpoint on the Adjarian border.

When Interior Minister Georgy Baramidze was conversing with Adjarian law enforcement officials at the checkpoint, shots were heard, following which Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili decided to change direction to the town of Poti.
