Court finds Ilyas Nalgiev guilty of torturing Zelimkhan Chitigov in Ingush MIA
The Karabulak Court ruled on the case of torture in the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ingushetia that in the episode of torture of Zelimkhan Chitigov, the guilt of Ilyas Nalgiev, former police officer, had been completely proved, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
Ilyas Nalgiev and Nazir Guliev are the defendants in the case of torture, used against Zelimkhan Chitigov. Zelimkhan Chitigov had to leave Russia because of threats from defendants. Four more persons Sultygov, Khamkhoev, Karagulgov, and Gorchkhanov were also recognized to be the victims. The defendants do not admit their guilt.
Elena Butrina, Deputy Chair of the Committee "Civil Assistance", treats as "great success" the fact that the announcement of the verdict, which was long delayed, had been started.
"I understand that it is hard for all participants of the trial to stand during the announcement of the verdict. However, I think that the announcement could not be divided into such pieces, in particularly, as I know, since on October 29, Nalgiev did not want to get out of the car before the court session, and only threat to put him on the federal wanted list and persuasion of his relatives allowed to start the announcement of the verdict," Elena Butrina believes.
