In Rostov-on-Don, participant of action in support of Article 31 of Constitution detained

Today, in Rostov-on-Don, within the "Strategy-31", solo pickets were held: six persons came to the square with posters. One of the activists was brought by the police to the police station. Five more participants of the protest action stood for about an hour with posters in support of Article 31 of the Russian Constitution and went home.

On last day of each month, which consists of 31 days, in different cities of Russia, the opposition held actions in support of Article 31 of the Russian Constitution, which gives citizens the right to freely and peacefully assemble to express their opinions.

Participants of the "Strategy-31" stood on the square far enough away from each other. A solo picketer, who introduced himself to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent as Oleg, a civil activist, stood with the poster reading: "I can be your President or Governor. I promise to follow Articles 3, 191, 30, 31, and other Articles of the Constitution of the Russian Federation".

"By the poster, I want to prove that none of our authorities adhere to Articles of the Constitution. The Constitution gives us the right to assemble peacefully without arms. However, we are obliged to take some permits at the administration. This is why I will be taken away from here now, since I did not ask any permit," Oleg stated.

Later, he was approached by several police officers, who took him by his arms and accompanied him to the district police station, located in the Gorky Park.

Later, it became known that the civil activist was asked to move away from the scene, where at that time the city creative teams were to perform. He refused, and then, he was forcibly taken away from the square.
