In Ingushetia, supporters of movement "Mekhk-Kkhel" go on termless hunger strike

On October 29, at 03:00 p.m., in Ingushetia, about 10 persons, supporters of the regional public movement "Mekhk-Kkhel", began a hunger strike to demand the resignation of the republic's leaders.

"The hunger-strikers demand the resignation of the leaders of the Republic of Ingushetia and the implementation of the law on rehabilitation of the repressed peoples," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Idris Abadiev, Chairman of the "Mekhk-Kkhel" (People's Parliament).

He stated that mattresses and packages of bottled drinking water were delivered in advance to large premises near the shopping centre "Kovcheg" (Ark) in Nazran.

According to Idris Abadiev, all the preparations were watched by the police squad. "They did not interfere with our preparations and just watched them. I know that many of them support the demands that we put forward. However, because of fear to lose their jobs, they have to comply with the orders of their bosses," Idris Abadiev believes.

The leader of the movement "Mekhk-Kkhel" believes that the number of hunger-strikers will increase. "There are a lot of people in the republic, who are dissatisfied with the policy, implemented by the authorities, and who are willing to join us," he said.

Till present, representatives of the Ingush authorities did not comment on the started hunger strike and the demands of the hunger-strikers.
