The pilots of McLaren won the finals of City Challenge in Baku
Pilots of McLaren MP4 GT3 race car Frederick Makovievski and Steph Dusseldorf won the final competition of GT3 City Challenge going on in Baku.
The second place was taken by pilots of BMW Z4 Kechel and Lauda, the third place by racers of BMW Z4 Yelmer Burman and Nicolas Mayr-Melnhof.
24 pilots participated in the finals. Brazilian racer Abba Kogan in March 761 wrecked during the race and the car caught fire. The pilot left the car in time and therefore got no injuries.
During the race the pilots had to cover 20 rounds. The race had to be stopped for a while. After evacuation of the car the race recommenced, “Trend” reports.
Winner of the final race in category “Gymkhana city drift” also became known. It was German racer Rokhan Van Riel in BMW M5 car whose diversified manoeuvres were most picturesque, Azerisport.com reports.
According to Jacques Vilnev, World champion in “Formula-1” class, who took part in City Challenge races, “real races, complicated but really exciting” passed off in Baku, 1news.az reports.
