Colony prisoner stops his hunger strike in Stavropol Territory

The hunger strike, announced by one of the prisoners of the Correction Colony No. 11 of the Stavropol Territory, who complained about the illegal actions of the colony employees, has been stopped, said a source from the colony. The penitentiary service denies the fact of the hunger strike.

According to the source from the colony, the hunger strike of Musa Vatsuev, a native of Chechnya, who was placed after the beating that occurred on October 4 into a dungeon, has been stopped. "After the situation became broadly public, Musa was transferred from the dungeon into an ordinary cell on October 26," said the source.

Now, according to his story, the attitude of the colony personnel to prisoners is normal; and nothing prevents Muslims to worship.

As described by the press service of the Department of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service (known as UFSIN) for the Stavropol Territory, the information about the hunger strike in the Correction Colony No. 11 is not true.
