Woman from Kabardino-Balkaria asks her son convicted conditionally for storing weapons to return home

Rimma Mashezova, a resident of the village of Islamey, Kabardino-Balkaria, has recorded a video message with a request to her son Alim Mashezov to return home. Alim had been conditionally convicted for storing arms; and a year after that he left his home.

"You have done nothing; and you have no need to hide. Come back; and you will be helped at the Adaptation Commission and Human Rights Centre," the mother's video record says.

In late April 2011, Alim Mashezov was sentenced to three years conditionally under Article 222 "Illegal possession of weapons and explosives", Rimma Mashezova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to her story, then, Alim saw that he was shadowed. Late in August this year Alim Mashezov said that he would go to work in Sochi or in Moscow; however, he never appeared in none of these cities. Mother knows nothing about the whereabouts of her son.

Rimma Mashezova suggests that her son is hiding from the police. She believes that Alim had done nothing illegal and hopes for the help of the Adaptation Commission, when and if her son returns.
