Azerbaijan claims shelling by Armenian Armed Forces in Karabakh conflict area

On October 26 and at night on October 27, the Armenian Armed Forces shelled the dispositions of the Army of Azerbaijan, said the press service of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan. On the other hand, Movses Akopyan, the Defence Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh, has stated that from the start of the year, the Azerbaijani party has violated the ceasefire on the Karabakh direction for about 12,000 times.

According to the MoD of Azerbaijan, the fire was conducted from the territory of the village of Chinarly, the Berd District of Armenia, and from the nameless heights in the Krasnoselsky District.

Also, shelling was opened from the positions near the following villages: Shikhlar and Javakhirli of the Agdam District; Tapgaragoiunlu of the Geranboi District; Goradiz of the Fuzuli District; and Mekhdili of the Jebrail District, the "Trend" has reported.

The fire was suppressed by the return fire, the "Vesti.az" reports.

As of October 1, from the start of the year, Azerbaijan has violated the ceasefire in the Karabakh direction for about 12,000 times, said Movses Akopyan, the Defence Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh at a press conference on October 25. According to his story, within the same period of last year, the Azerbaijani party violated the ceasefire for 9519 times, the "News.am" writes.

As noted by Akopyan, an increase of uses of large-calibre weapons was recorded; and Karabakh fighters are holding the return fire. "We have worked hard to improve the situation on the front line, in order to make the service as safe as possible for the soldiers," he said.
