Capturers of Tax Service in Tbilisi declare their readiness to go on hunger strike
The socially vulnerable residents of Tbilisi, who seized the building of the tax service of the Nadzaladevi District, plan to go on a hunger strike, should their demands to provide housing remain unsatisfied.
Let us remind you that on October 25 about 80 needy families broke into the building of the Tax Service of the Nadzaladevi District.
The capturers – now about 30 in number – are still inside the building. The building is cordoned by the police, who let nobody in and out.
David Darakhvelidze, the Minister for Refugees and Accommodation, has put the responsibility for the incident on the Tbilisi Mayoralty and the social welfare service, and asked the protesters not to intrude into the rooms, where important documents are stored.
In front of the building, about 20 people are holding a protest action, the "Georgia Online" reports.
According to the protesters, they have nowhere to live, despite the fact that they are citizens of Tbilisi; they hear nothing promising at the Mayoralty, "The Tbilisi Week" writes.
