In Dagestan, ICRF again closes investigation into Saniyat Magomedova's murder

The Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) in Dagestan for the twentieth time closed the investigation into the criminal case against law enforcement agents from the OVD (Interior Division) of the Kazbek District on the murder of Saniyat Magomedova and wounding of Gasan Baisultanov, committed in 2006. On October 23, Mamatkhan Baisultanov, the father of Gasan Baisultanov, a resident of Khasavyurt, received a notification on termination of the case.

On November 3, 2006, during the special operation in Khasavyurt, police officers cordoned off the house of Gasan Baisultanov and opened fire at him and his pregnant wife Saniyat Magomedova. Gasan Baisultanov got serious wounds in his chest, and his wife died. On June 29, 2012, at the meeting with Magomedsalam Magomedov, the leader of Dagestan, Mamatkhan Baisultanov asked for assistance in the investigation into the criminal case on the shooting of his son and the pregnant wife of his son. The criminal case was repeatedly opened and closed.

"I have met many officials and visited a lot of public institutions, and I even talked to the President of Dagestan. 11 investigators replace each other, and the criminal case was opened and closed 20 times. According to my data, it is an absolute record of Dagestan and Russia. However, the situation has not changed, and at present, the only way remaining for me is to move out of Russia," Mamatkhan Baisultanov says.
