"Zvartnots" again stops servicing "Armavia"

Starting from October 23, the "Zvartnots" International Airport stopped servicing aircrafts of the "Armavia" Airline because of its debt.

The debt of the "Armavia" Airline to the Airport has reached 3.3 million US dollars. This was reported by Gevork Abramyan, Press Secretary of the Company "Armenia-International Airports", the owner of the "Zvartnots" Airport.

The press service of the Company reported that in October, the Airport suspends servicing flights of the "Armavia" Airlines for the fifth time already, the "ARKA" reports.

In their turn, representatives of the "Armavia" Airline claim that every day they transfer an amount of money to the account of the Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) "Armenia-International Airports". "Let them think about the fact that when the amount of the debt was 6 million US dollars, they continued serving the flights, and at present, when the amount of the debt is 3 million US dollars, they refuse doing that. This means that the refusal of servicing is beneficial to someone," said a source in the Airline.

Nelly Cherchinyan, Press Secretary of the General Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia (GDCA), has stated that the GDCA is not going to intervene in the conflict and that it will do that in the event if such situation lasts long.

The representatives of the "Armavia" Airline have informed the GDCA that they had created all statutory conditions for passengers, awaiting their departure, the "Panorama.am" reports.
