In Krasnodar Territory, Court selects 30 jurors for trial on case of massacre in Kuschevskaya village
Today, the Krasnodar Regional Court continued selection of the jury. The Court selected 30 jurors out of the required 32 twelve major and 28 substitutes.
The next court session on the case of the "Tsapok's gang" is scheduled for November 8, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
During a break at the today's court session, the lawyer of the victim party reported that 10 persons out of 45 candidates for the jury rejected to take part in the jury.
"People immediately disqualify themselves when they are not sure of the condition of their health. So, when a candidate to jurors stands up and says: 'I got high blood pressure, and I declare disqualification of myself,' we cannot refuse him or her. Therefore, people drop out prior to the start of the formation, even before the defendants' lawyers begin to ask questions," the "Ninth Channel Kuban" quotes Ekaterina Romanova, the victims' lawyer, as saying.
According to Igor Skripka, the lawyer of the defendant Sergey Tsapok, the Court has promised to send about 1000 subpoenas to the candidates to jury for the nest court session. "If they invite 1000 persons, and 200 of them will appear at the trial, so, we will, of course, will form the jury at the next court hearing," the lawyer has explained.
According to the "RAPSI" (Russian Agency of Legal and Judicial Information), this is the fourth court hearing to be held by Krasnodar Regional Court to form the jury.
