Delegates of Alternate Congress of Peoples of Dagestan claim shelling of their bus

Today, in the Kizilyurt District of Dagestan, the bus, in which delegates of the Alternate Congress of Peoples of Dagestan were travelling to Moscow, was shelled. This was reported by Magomed Magomedaliev, one of the delegates.

According to him, the incident occurred at about 10:00 p.m. Moscow time near the village of Almalo of the Kizilyurt District. The man states that fire was opened from Lada-2114 car with tinted windows and without state registration number plates.

"The car produced a horn sound, and the driver thought that they were asking him to give them way; however, the beeping car could drive around, since there were no oncoming cars. The car drove to the bus from the side, and a passenger, allegedly from the back seat, made several shots to the wheels of the bus," Magomed Magomedaliev said.

According to him, the police demanded that the second bus should return to the bus station. "My friend, who was in the second bus, said that policemen, who were about thirty, rudely asked the bus driver to return to Makhachkala and added that otherwise he would face troubles. We decided not to aggravate the situation. We will replace the tires, damaged by the bullets, return to Makhachkala, and there, we will decide how to act further," said the delegate of the Alternate Congress of Peoples of Dagestan.

The Alternate Congress of Peoples of Dagestan is to be held on October 25 in Moscow. About 1000 persons were registered to attend the event. The Congress will discuss issues, acute for the republic, including corruption and arbitrariness of power agents.
