Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh report on shelling in conflict zone
On October 19-20, units of the Armenian Armed Forces shelled the positions of the Azerbaijani army. This was reported by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD). The representative of the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh accused Azerbaijan of violating the ceasefire regime and shelling positions.
According to the Azerbaijani side, on October 19 and at night on October 20, the shooting was carried out near the villages of Goradiz, Ashagy, Seidakhmedli, and Gorgan of the Fizuli District and from nameless heights of the Khodjavend District.
The shelling was suppressed by return fire, the IA "Trend" reports with reference to the press service of the Azerbaijani MoD.
During the period from October 14 till October 20, Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire regime about 250 times and produced about 1000 shots of various types of small arms in the direction of the positions of units of Nagorno-Karabakh. This was responded by the representative of the press service of the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh.
"The units of the Armed Forces of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) remain committed to compliance with the ceasefire regime," the "News.am" quotes the representative of the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh.
