The Ministry of Interior Affairs: 35 gunmen killed in Chechnya since the beginning of the year

Since the beginning of 2012 the personnel of power-wielding structures killed 35 participants of armed underground in the territory of Chechnya and detained over 80, republican Ministry of Interior Affairs reports.

"Since January till the middle of October this year members of power ministries exterminated 35 participants of paramilitary groups who put up resistance in the territory of our republic, among them well-known leader of gunmen MagarbiTimeraliev. 80 people were detained and six ex-participants of paramilitary groups(PMG) and their accomplices persuaded to come as self-reported criminals of their own accord", a representative of republican power-wielding structures informed.

Within nine and a half months of this year eight joint large-scale special operations against participants of armed underground were carried out in Chechnya. "These operations resulted in detection and extermination of six of their bases and camps and 39 hiding places with arms and ammunition", he said.

According to our interlocutor, the last successful special operation against gunmen took place in the highlandVedeno district in the South of Chechnya. Then members of power ministries killed four gunmen from the grouping of field commander Muslim Gakaev. Besides, eleven people got wounded in the special operation.
