Sochi: MfE official suspected of taking bribe of 100,000 roubles

A criminal case has been opened in Sochi against an inspector of the Centre of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) for the Krasnodar Territory, who is suspected of bribe-taking.

According to the Investigatory Department for the Krasnodar Territory of the ICRF, in the course of his official duties, the above inspector found that one of the local entrepreneurs, engaged in transporting passengers by his small boat, was carrying more passengers than prescribed by the applicable legislation.

According to the investigation, the inspector promised the entrepreneur not to prevent his work and not to attract him in the administrative responsibility, if he bribed him with 100,000 roubles.

The latter turned to law enforcers and on October 2, 2012, gave the requested sum to the inspector, who then was detained by operative agents of the local FSB.

Now, the freedom restriction form of the suspect is considered, says the website of the Investigatory Department for the Krasnodar Territory of the ICRF.
