Tatiana Lokshina, staff member of Russian HRW, who received threats, leaves Russia

Tatiana Lokshina, Deputy Chief of the Moscow Branch of the international Human Rights Watch (HRW), engaged in solution of human rights problem in Northern Caucasus and in South Ossetia, left the Russian Federation. According to her, her departure is not connected with incoming threats.

The "Caucasian Knot", the human rights defender claimed receiving SMS-messages with threats on September 28-30.

"My departure is not directly connected with the threats," stated Tatiana Lokshina the social network Facebook.

According to her, the departure was planned long ago. According to Tatiana Lokshina, she went first to France. Then, she plans to go on maternity leave and join her husband, who went to the USA to write a book.

"We are to return to Moscow in early spring," Tatiana Lokshina said. She has emphasized that she is ready to answer all questions of law enforcement agencies via Skype or telephone. The human rights defender hopes that the police will catch a person, who threatened her.

Today, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) received an appeal about the threats to Tatiana Lokshina, signed by Ombudsman Vladimir Lukin, the Radio Station "Echo Moskvy" reports.
