In Rostov-on-Don, trial of Boris Papayan, participant of "March of Millions", postponed till October 30

The trial against Boris Papayan, a participant of the "March of Millions", held in Rostov-on-Don, has been postponed till October 30. The next court session is to question the policeman, who detained the defendant and who failed to appear at the trial. Besides, the court intends to repeatedly request the materials of the video surveillance system "Safe City".

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that on September 15, in Rostov-on-Don, the police detained 4 persons. According to the police, they tried to organize an unsanctioned rally. The detainees said that they treated the detentions as unlawful and reported on delay of the transfer of materials of the case on their administrative offence from their police station to court. On September 24, the trial against Boris Papayan, who was detained at the "March of Millions" in Rostov-on-Don, was postponed till October 10. The court planned to invite the witness, who gave testimony to policemen during the detention, to question the policeman, who completed the report, and to request the video of the events, which occurred during the "March of Millions".

The police officer, who was to testify at the court session, reported by phone that he could not come, since he just returned from daily duty. This was reported at the beginning of the court session by Nurizhat Gasanova, Judge of the judicial precinct No. 2 of the Lenin District of Rostov-on-Don. She has added that the witness will still be questioned and called for the next court session.

Besides, the Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in Rostov-on-Don has provided the court with the materials of the video surveillance system "Safe City"; however, it turned out that nothing could be seen on the video, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

"The video, presented to the court, does not contain dates or time. How could we know when the recording has been made? Furthermore, the video was provided from the wrong camera, so, nothing could be seen at the record. The court needs the video from the camera, located on the other side of Bolshaya Sadovaya Street," said at the trial Nikolai Kladovoy, the public defender of Boris Papayan.

Judge Nurizhat Gasanova has noted she was informed in oral form that the camera on the opposite side of the street was not working, so the MIA's Department could present the video from one camera only.

The next court session is scheduled for October 30.
