Victims in Anna Politkovskaya's case demand to cancel Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov's agreement with investigators

Today, the victims in the case on the journalist Anna Politkovskaya's murder her children Ilya Politkovsky and Vera Politkovskaya filed a motion to cancel the agreement with investigators, concluded by Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov, ex-Chief of the Secret Department of the Chief Department of the Internal Affairs of Moscow.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the children of the murdered journalist and their lawyers were examining good faith of the agreement of Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov with the investigators.

Vera Politkovskaya and Ilya Politkovsky filed the motion to the Investigatory Committee and the General Prosecutor's Office. They believe that Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov, accused of the murder of their mother, has not fulfilled his obligations and should be on the same dock with the other defendants.

They mention the ex-militiaman as one of the direct organizers of the Anna Politkovskaya's murder and claim that he used his official power and possibilities to take vengeance on her.

The victims in the case did not question the Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov's testimony on involvement of other members of the criminal grouping in the murder. However, they believe that Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov, hoping to avoid a severe sentence, tried to significantly diminish his role in the crime and offered the investigators a "politically motivated", but unsubstantiated version of the person, who ordered the murder.

Besides, the Anna Politkovskaya's children believe that the trial against the defendants, accused of the murder of their mother, should be the one, it should not be divided into separate proceedings and it should be held in public and be under the control of the public and the media, the "Interfax" reports.

In its turn, the Investigatory Committee saw no reason to cancel the agreement with Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov. This was reported by Vladimir Markin, Spokesman of the Investigatory Committee.

According to him, the defendant has fully executed the terms of the agreement with the court. In particular, according to Vladimir Markin, Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov gave evidence against the accomplices, admitted his guilt and met other conditions of the agreement, the "Kommersant" reports.

On October 9, according to Vladimir Markin, Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov will start examining the materials of the case.

Besides, according to the investigators, Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov also, confessed to his involvement in the murder of Paul Khlebnikov, Editor-in-Chief of the Russian edition of the "Forbes" magazine, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
