CEC: "Georgian Dream" wins elections to Supreme Council of Adzharia

The block "Bidzina Ivanishvili-Georgian Dream" gained at the elections to the Supreme Council of Adzharia 57.6 percent of voters. The second place went to the "United National Movement More Good for People" with 37 percent of the votes. This was reported by a representative of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia.

According to the results of preliminary calculation of votes from all electoral precincts, the block of Ivanishvili gained 103,254 votes, and the "United National Movement" Party was supported by 66,383 voters. This preliminary information was reported by the CEC's representative.

The Christian-Democratic Movement (the leader is Georgy Targamadze) gained at the elections to the Supreme Council of Adzharia 2.8 percent (5062 votes), the Labour Party (the leader is Shalva Natelashvili) gained 1.3 percent (2286 votes), and the "New Right-Wing" Party (the leader is David Gamkrelidze) gained 0.6 percent (993 votes), the "News Georgia" reports.

Besides, the data on elections to the Supreme Council of the Authority by the majoritarian system were reported.

In the Batumi electoral precinct, Akaki Dzneladze, the candidate of the "Georgian Dream", took the lead by gaining 62.91 percent of votes (48,512 voters supported him). Robert Chkhaidze, his opponent from the "United National Movement" Party, gained 30.86 percent of votes (23,800 voters).

In the Keda electoral precinct, Irakli Baramidze, the representative of the "United National Movement" Party took the lead by gaining 47.62 percent of votes (5161 votes). Nodar Dzneladze, his opponent from the coalition "Georgian Dream", gained 42.51 percent of votes (4608 votes).

In the Kobuleti electoral precinct, Anzor Thilaishvili, the candidate of the coalition "Georgian Dream" with 55.54 percent of the votes took the lead (21,818 voters supported him). Djansug Chincharadze, his opponent from the "United National Movement" Party, gained 38.53 percent (15,135 votes).

In the Shuakhevi electoral precinct, Mikhail Mzhavanadze, the candidate of the "United National Movement" Party, won the elections. He was supported by 59.37 percent of voters (5574 votes). Djemal Putkaradze, his opponent of the "Georgian Dream", gained 26.86 percent (2522 votes).

In the Khelvachauri electoral precinct, Temur Kakhidze, the candidate of the "Georgian Dream", gained 63.61 percent (17,147 votes) and took the lead, and Vazha Bolkvadze, the candidate of the "United National Movement" Party, gained 31.28 percent (8431 votes).

In the Khulo electoral precinct, Temur Bolkvadze, the candidate of the "United National Movement" Party, took the lead with 60.54 percent (8683 votes). Amiran Mamuladze, his opponent from the coalition "Georgian Dream", gained 30.71 percent (4405 votes).

On next days, Adzharian government to be changed

In accordance with the autonomy's Constitution, after the elections, new deputies of the Supreme Council elect and approve the new government and its chairman.

The Georgian President does not intend to create a political crisis in Adzharia and he will present in Adzharia a candidate for the position of the chairman, desired for the coalition "Georgian Dream", the "Georgia Online" reports with reference to representatives of the "United National Movement" as saying.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that the observers pointed to violations during the voting in Batumi. In particular, Tamar Chugoshvili, a representative of the Georgian NGO "Georgian Young Lawyers' Association" (GYLA), mentioned several recorded cases, when a signature of another person was put opposite to the name of the voter in the list. And, according to local journalist Mariana Kupreishvili, one of the most common violations in Batumi was an attempt to organize a "carousel". However, Mariana Kupreishvili believes that those violations have not affected much the election outcomes.
