Vardan Oskanyan, ex-Foreign Minister of Armenia, summoned to GPO for interrogation

Vardan Oskanyan, the founder of the "Civilitas" Foundation, MP from the faction "Prosperous Armenia", ex-Foreign Minister of Armenia, was summoned for interrogation. This was reported by Sona Truzyan, Press Secretary of the General Prosecution's Office (GPO) of Armenia.

A criminal case on money laundering was instituted against Vardan Oskanyan. On October 2, the decision of the Parliament deprived Vardan Oskanyan of his parliamentary immunity.

According to Sona Truzyan, summon was sent to Vardan Oskanyan, in accordance with which, he should come to the GPO for interrogation on October 8.

The politician himself wrote on his page at the "Facebook" the following statements about his interrogation: "The political farce goes on." He described the decision of the GPO as "an attack on the authority of Armenia and its democratic rules."

The website "change.org" began collecting signatures in support of Vardan Oskanyan and the "Civilitas" Foundation, headed by him. Participants of the action call to stop the political pressure on Vardan Oskanyan and demand fair solution of the problem. More than 600 persons from different countries have already signed in support of the MP.
