"YouTube" prepares to block anti-Islamic film in territory of Russia

Once the "Google" receives official documents to ban the film "Innocence of Muslims", the "YouTube" will block the video in the territory of Russian Federation. Closure of the entire service or restrictions on other products of the "Google" is not in question.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that yesterday, on October 1, the Tver Court of Moscow recognized the anti-Islamic film "Innocence of Muslims" as extremists and forbade its demonstration in the territory of the Russian Federation. The company "Google" has decided to block the film despite the fact that it can challenge the decision within 30 days.

Meanwhile, a group of public figures, which includes Anatoly Baranov, the editor of the "Forum of MSK", Ivan Starikov, Professor at the Academy of National Economy, Konstantin Yankauskas, the member of the organizing committee of the "Party of December 5", Elena Tkach, the coordinator of the Public Coalition for Protection of Moscow, and Igor Mangushev, Chairman of the Youth Public Chamber of the Presnya District of Moscow, announced its intention to hold on October 6 a rally in the capital against the censorship of the Internet. The Moscow authorities offered Suvorov Square at the metro station "Dostoevskaya" as a platform for the protest action, the magazine "Forbes" reports.

Vladimir Lukin, Ombudsman in Russia, believes that the trial was held with violations he pointed to the fact that not all the parties were represent at the trial, the Radio Station "Echo of Moscow" reports. Mikhail Odintsov, the representative of the Ombudsman in the Russian Federation, the human rights organization "Human Rights Watch", many public figures and cultural workers requested not to ban the film.

However, Mufti Shafig Pshikhachev, the Moscow representative of the Coordinating Centre of Muslims of Northern Caucasus, stated that he considered the recognition of the film "Innocence of Muslims" as extremist to be correct. He has noted that the current situation around the scandalous film requires "to regulate this phenomenon by law," the agency RIA "Novosti" reports.

Rushan Abbyasov, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia, Imam of the Moscow Region, and Albir Krganov, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, Mufti of Moscow and Central Russia, also spoke in support of the decision of the Tver Court of Moscow.
