A memorial to victims of flood in Krymsk erected in Krasnodar

A granitic "Monument of grief" in memory of victims of flood in Krymsk will be opened on October, 4, in the Botanical gardens of Kuban State Agricultural University.

165 people perished as a result of a disastrous flood on July, 6 and 7, in Krasnodar region. Valuation committees officially acknowledged 1719 houses where 5962 persons lived totally destroyed.

The ceremony of opening the monument in Krasnodar will be held within the framework of a visit of a Japanese delegation. Besides the victims of flood in Krymsk, the monument is devoted to people who perished in a disastrous tsunami of March, 11, 2011, in Japan, "Kuban Live" reports.

During the ceremony an alley in the territory of the Botanical gardens will be laid where Japanese cherry trees from the Isle of Hokkaido will be planted, "Yuga.ru" web-portal reports.
