Number of children, hospitalized in Stepanakert, reaches 57

The number of children, who got sick and hospitalized because of the outbreak of infectious disease in Stepanakert, reached 57. The condition of all patients is stable. This was reported by the Medical Union "Arevik".

The "Caucasian Knot" reported that starting from the evening of September 26, the Republic's Children's Hospital "Arevik" and the infectious diseases hospital in Stepanakert hospitalized children with high fever, vomiting, and diarrhoea. Earlier, 32 patients were reported.

Today, the Republic's Children's Hospital "Arevik" hospitalized with similar symptoms children from the kindergarten No. 3 and from the private kindergarten "Sose" in Stepanakert. The number of affected children has reached 57. The pre-school institutions No. 1, No. 3 and "Sose" introduced quarantine.

The condition of all sick children is stable, and there is no cause for alarm. This was reported by Mesrop Markaryan, Chief Doctor of the "Arevik". He has noted that the children will be discharged in several days.

According to the public sanitary and epidemiological station of Nagorno-Karabakh, till present, the pathogen has not been identified. It is possible that the test results will be presented and officially announced tomorrow, on September 29.
