Students' organizations of Georgia are holding up their action of protest

The Georgian students' associations announced suspension of their actions against violence in prisons till the end of voting at the parliamentary election in the country.

In the evening of September, 26, representatives of "laboratory 1918" association announced suspension of students' processions till the end of the parliamentary election.

It should be reminded that voting at the election of the Georgian parliament is appointed on October, 1.

"We suspend manifestations, processions, blocking the roadways and similar forms of protest till October, 2", one of the leaders of the organization Levan Abashidze declared. He added that the activists of the movement would express their protest in other ways: in from of concerts and theatrical actions.

The Students' Coordination council including besides "laboratory 1918", the "Students' Voice", "Youth for Justice", "Independent Students' Association", "Students of the Theatrical University", "Students of the Academy of Arts", youth organizations "Shavparosnebi", "Davitiani", "Iverioni" and association "For Healthy Future" informed that on September, 27, they would join the procession of representatives of the clergy and stop their action after that.

During the action that passed off on September, 26, near the Stationery Office members of the Council declared that they would wait for the Patriarch's statement. "We got the news that the Patriarch would make a statement in connection with the present-day situation. We will wait for this statement after which we will decide on our plans for the future", "Georgia Online" quotes the members of the Council.
