Part of North Ossetia became open for foreigners

The Government of Russia canceled limitations on visiting part of the territories of North Ossetia by foreigners. Limitations of both entry to the republic and transit within its territory and visiting Alagirski and Irafski districts free entry to which was prohibited since 1992 were canceled.

According to a resolution of the Government, changes were made to the lists of territories with regulated visiting by foreigners. Transit in the motorway M-29 (Nazran - Beslan - Nalchik), highways Verkhny Lars - Vladikavkaz, Nizhny Zaramag - Alagir, Alagir - Ardon and also motorroads connecting Vladikavkaz with motorway M-29 is allowed.

Transit on the railways Nazran - Beslan - Murtazovo, Vladikavkaz - Beslan, Alagir - Elkhotovo and Gudermes - Mozdok - Prokhladanaya is allowed, resolution of the Government dated September, 18, 2012, No 935 published on the official web-site of the Government runs.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that works on construction of year-round mountain recreation complex "Mamison" were being carried out by "Resorts of North Caucuses" (RNC) public corporation in Alagirski and Irafski districts of the republic.

Potential investors and partners have already encountered problems of entry to the territories where objects of the future complex will be located, Deputy General Director of RNC Vladimir Evdokimov reported.

Vladimir Evdokimov also pointed out that when "Mamison" reached rated capacity the company expected a stream of downhill skiers from abroad. "In case of any limitations a tourist will just choose another place for rest… We are studying the question of revocation of limitations on visiting this territory under development. The resolution of the Government is the first step to solve the problem", the company's web-site quotes Evdokimov.
